A native Californian, born in Bakersfield, JANIE moved to Las Vegas in her teens and began a singing career that started in Church and school and moved into the night club show circuit. Her outstanding talent, enhanced by extensive training in a variety of music, was recognized at an early age, when she was chosen to be a part of the "Madrigal Singers", a prestigious singing group performing accapello 16th century vocal music.

JANIE, a frequent talent contest winner, became a featured female vocalist in many popular Las Vegas bands, and eventually formed her own successful group; "The Lone Mountain Band". The group played many of the hottest clubs and lounges in Las Vegas, and went on to tour under the new name of "JANIE STARK and the WILD COUNTRY BAND".    In the Las Vegas area, JANIE has performed at Sam's Town Hotel and Casino, Tropicana Hotel and Casino, The Maxim Hotel and Casino, Skyline Hotel and Casino, the Frontier Hotel and Casino, Whiskey Pete's Hotel and Casino, Union Plaza Hotel and Casino and the world famous Silver Dollar Saloon. Travel engagements with her group have introduced JANIE'S talents to many areas of the country. JANIE was also the featured female vocalist for the world famous (five time rodeo cowboy) Eddie Akridge and his Gold Buckle Band.
